$1,000 more for Meza’s Beach Soccer goals

In February 2017 Marlon Meza made the news when he was awarded  the Golden Boot for the most goals at the 2017 CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship tournament which took place in Nassau, Bahamas from February 20 to 26, 2017.

In June the trophy was delivered at the Caye Caulker Beach Soccer Championship games and yesterday was presented with a check for $1,000.00 by President Sergio Chuc.

The tournament served as the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup qualifier for teams from North, Central America and the Caribbean which are members of CONCACAF.

Panama was victorious overall and took the title whilst Belize placed 13th in the competition.

Marlon Mesa along with Mexico’s Ramon Maldonado, were both awarded the Golden Boot for being the top scorers of the tournament with 12 goals each.
